About us
Every Sunday from 9:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm, the historic Plaza de Sotomayor in the idyllic district of Argual in Los Llanos de Aridane transforms into a lively and colorful flea market (in Spanish, “Rastro”). Surrounded by impressive manor houses from the 17th and 18th centuries and the characteristic Canarian arches of the old aqueduct, this Sunday market offers a unique atmosphere that attracts visitors to the island. Here, local traders and private sellers present a varied selection of second-hand treasures, used clothing, books, and practical everyday items. At the same time, market visitors can find Palmeran handicrafts, handmade one-of-a-kind pieces, plants, and creative products by local artists – perfect as a gift or as a special souvenir from the “Isla Bonita.” A special highlight of the flea market is the glassblowing workshop, which presents and offers its artistic glass creations for sale directly at the market. While browsing between the stalls, you can enjoy small snacks, coffee, or refreshing drinks and soak up the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. The flea market in Argual is a popular meeting place for locals and guests and offers an authentic cultural experience every Sunday amid the historic backdrop of La Palma.
