About us
The Museo del Plátano in Tazacorte invites visitors to discover the fascinating history of banana cultivation in the Canary Islands. Surrounded by banana plantations, the museum, housed in a traditional Canarian home, vividly presents the journey of the banana from the plant to export, its importance for the local economy, and the culture of cultivation through historical photographs, informative panels, and authentic tools. The exhibition is aimed at anyone interested in agriculture, island landscapes, and cultural history. In addition, the museum offers a small selection of regional banana-related products. It is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (closed on Sundays). Its central location in the historic El Charco district makes the visit a worthwhile stop during a tour of Tazacorte.
